Who we are

The Coalition of African-Led Organizations in Canada (TCALOC) is a not-for-profit network uniting African-led groups and leaders across Canada to advance equity, justice, and empowerment for people of African descent.

We work together to strengthen our communities, amplify our voices, strengthen community capacity, and drive systemic change so our communities can thrive, lead with pride and create lasting, African-led solutions for change.

Our mission is to empower Black communities by promoting equity, education, and opportunity, while dismantling systemic barriers and amplifying Black voices to build a future rooted in justice, dignity, and collective strength through advocacy, mentorship, and collaboration

A just and equitable Canada where Black Canadians thrive, lead, and shape their futures free from discrimination supported by strong, united communities rooted in dignity, solidarity, and shared prosperity.

Values

Goals:

  • Establish programs that address barriers to success, such as access to education, professional development, and mentorship.

  • Promote African heritage and traditions through cultural events, workshops, and storytelling.

  • Amplify the voices of the African diaspora in Canada to address issues like systemic racism, housing, and employment equity.

  • Provide resources and opportunities for entrepreneurship and financial literacy to ensure sustainable economic growth within the community.

  • To facilitate the successful settlement and integration of newcomers from African countries into Canadian society.

  • To integrate trauma-informed principles into all programs and services to ensure a safe and supportive environment for individuals affected by trauma.

  • To promote mental health and well-being within African diaspora communities by providing culturally appropriate counselling and mental health services

  • To prevent and address gender-based violence, including domestic violence, within African diaspora communities.

  • To facilitate the successful settlement and integration of newcomers from African countries into Canadian society.

  • To address food insecurity within African diaspora communities by ensuring access to nutritious food and promoting food sovereignty

We support and uplift the African community in Canada through education, advocacy, and initiatives that foster unity and empowerment for positive change.

We are dedicated to serving the African diaspora in Canada, providing resources and support to foster community growth and empowerment.
